For over 11 years Carmel was Group Financial Controller in an Irish software development company, headquarters in Dublin and offices in EU, USA and representatives worldwide. From 30 employees to 100, Carmel managed a busy finance department faced with developing processes and controls as the company grew from a technical startup to a successful enterprise. Prior to working in the IT sector, Carmel worked in several manufacturing companies. As management & cost accountant, working with different ERP systems, running internal audits and stock takes.

Carmel has run her own consulting business since 2019 working with entrepreneurs and micro business owners getting to understand their pain points.  Running a growing business that needs an injection of resources, either financial, new hires or equipment to move to the next level is daunting and understanding and maintaining a clear cashflow forecasting process and system is key.  As a management accountant specialising in cashflow, Carmel helps micro businesses thrive and grow through increased profit.

Carmel is also a Finance and Business Mentor with several Local Enterprise Offices, seeing firsthand how cash management impacts startups and micro businesses through all business life cycles.
